Pilates and Massage
PILATES
|
We offer individualized exercise programs for people desiring a higher level of fitness. Our Therapeutic Pilates provides rehabilitation after surgery and is also beneficial for injuries ranging from minor to more serious conditions.
Pilates is an exercise system with over 500 exercises that focus on the development of core musculature. The abdominals, low-back and buttocks are strengthened, thereby creating a solid foundation and reducing stress on both the spine and the weight bearing joints. The end result provides toned muscles, increased strength and a more efficient body.
MASSAGE THERAPY
|
Our Massage Therapists are experienced in different types of massage and are available at the patient's convenience. We even offer massage for our pregnant patients!
Below is a short description of the types of massage offered in our clinic:
Deep Tissue: releases the chronic patterns of tension in the body throught slow strokes and deep finger pressure by either following or going across the grain of muscles and tendons.
Swedish: A classical European massage style using long strokes, kneading and friction techniques that deal with the soft tissue structure of the muscle.
Sports: Massage technique for athletes aimed at either preparing the muscles and joints for athletic activity or helping in recovery from the stress and strain associated with athletic activity.
Pregnancy: Prenatal massage shares many of the goals of Swedish massage. It is tailored specifically to the needs of the pregnant woman and the therapists are trained to understand the changes a woman's body goes through and adjust the massage accordingly.
